Knowledge and Specific Job Skills Summary
We are looking for a designer who can:
- Accurately and efficiently work to a range of given briefs and requests.
- Coordinate multiple projects and working to tight deadlines.
- Work with existing artwork from initial request through to print-ready files for production.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
The service requirements at this level include:
1. Designated contact in the studio for on-boarding new global clients, in addition to all creative requests for the brands thereafter.
2. On-going communication required directly between designer and client - via their own comms platform, arranged (video) calls, or face-to-face (where international travel may be necessary) - in a manner that best represents Fluid in presentation and tone of voice.
3. Adhering to client expectations is key, both directly with the client and indirectly via the assigned Fluid Merchandise Consultant.
4. In-depth knowledge of printing techniques used by our key suppliers/printers to assist in advising clients on branding possibilities.
5. To live and breathe the assigned client’s associated brand guidelines for general use and application.
6. Design-from-brief requirements on-going - including idea generation and creative solutions for new assets to be designed and implemented, as well as product choice suggestions for specific campaigns when required.
7. Creating custom product templates and bespoke visuals, when necessary.
8. Design marketing materials for assigned global key accounts, to assist in developing strategies and to promote their brand awareness and messaging.
9. Manage your own workflow and calendar, allowing you to coordinate multiple projects, whilst working to tight deadlines.
10. Ability to reorganise your workload when there's a need to cover additional creative requirements for Fluid or to support the rest of the creative team.
In addition to this, cover may be required within the main studio inbox, based on sudden team workload increases or office absences. The main studio inbox services all other areas of the business, including but not limited to:
- Design requirements for Fluid’s Merchandise Stores - including site images and product visuals.
- Creative consultancy for all general Fluid on-brand requests from any internal or external sources – in support of the Fluid brand guidelines and the quality/consistency of what we deliver.
- Design support for Marketing and Digital Marketing requests.
- All general requests at enquiry and order level for the strategic sales team.
Day-to-day to include:
- Artwork Checks (file types / outlined fonts / Pantones)
- Enquiry Mock-ups (accurately branded product visuals)
- Order Artwork Proofs (print ready artwork on supplied templates)
- Production Approvals (checking approved artwork prior to print)
- Proactive Presentations (branded product ranges for strategic targeting)
Attention to detail is key. Providing this level of service will require you to be creatively driven, out-going, and confident in all aspects of the role - including idea generation, development, presentation and pitch.
Experience
- Promotional merchandise industry and/or agency experience is desirable.
- An excellent understanding of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is essential, as well as Microsoft Office.
- Any software skills in addition to this would be beneficial.
Full training will be provided with regards to how we function as a studio, the systems and processes that we follow, and all that it means to be part of our Fluid Family.
